I.-William Pond, Groten, or Edwardstown, Suffolk, England had two sons who came
In 1630 with John Wintrhop to Salem, Mass. His son,
II. Samuel Pond of Dorchester, Mass, d. March 14, 1654, removed to Windsor,
Conn., m. November 18, 1642 to Sarah Ware. Their son,
III. Samuel Pond b. March 4, 1648 d. in Boston in 1667 m. February 3, 1669
Miriam Blatchley, daughter of Thomas and Susannah Ball. One of the
Charterers of Branford, deputy of General Court 1678-1687, sergeant of ye
trainband, 1683, lieutenant 1695. (His widow married Richard Bristow of
Guilford.)
IV-Nathaniel Pond b. Feb. 14, 1676, blacksmith, settled in Stamford, d. Aug. 23
1716. (See Tuttle Gen. P. 346) married Elizabeth Slanson, daughter of John and
Sarah Tuttle. Their sixth child,
V-Thankful Pond, b. c. 1706 d. 1747 m. Sept. 7, 1725 James Bishop No. 45. See
Vol. 6. The American Genealogist by Donald L. Jacobus. Their son,
VI- James Bishop No. 142 m. (2) Hannah Bishop No. 598. Their son,
